Lesson 1-Kicking
Assessment
Kicking and punting skills are essentials for playing soccer and football. So, I decided to focus on soccer style kicks and football style punts for my project. Both kicking and punting aid in a child's development of motor skills. I mentioned in my lessons that "Today we are using our walking tools", sometimes children don't realize that they're more aspects to using our legs and feet then just walking.
My big resource for this project became the text Children Moving: A Reflective Approach to Teaching Physical Education(1998). 4th ed. The lesson ideas I found in the text shaped my lesson plans and learnable pieces.
I included a mechanics page for soccer kicking, passing, and football punting. I thought this was important for the "basic skills" aspect of my project. Punting is a difficult skill to master for children so I included pictures and went into detail a little more.
Putting this project Online was a long process, but it was very helpful knowledge for future projects and ideas. My hope for future projects is that I could put original graphics on my page.
